This Pastor has guts!!!

This prayer says it all!  It's time for the MAJORITY to stand up and speak. If you believe in God.. read on.

This Pastor has guts!!
Thought you might enjoy this interesting prayer given in Kansas at the opening session of their Senate. It seems prayer still upsets some people.

When Minister Joe Wright was asked to open the new session of the Kansas
senate, everyone was expecting the usual generalities, but this is what they heard:

"Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask your forgiveness and to
seek your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, 'Woe to those
who call evil good,' but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values.

We confess that we have ridiculed the absolute truth of Your Word and call
it Pluralism.

We have exploited the poor and called it the lottery.

We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare.

We have killed our unborn and called it choice.

We have shot abortionists and called it justifiable.

We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self esteem.

We have abused power and called it politics.

We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition.

We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and called it freedom of _expression.

We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it
enlightenment.

Search us, Oh, God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin
and set us free.
Amen!"

The response was immediate. A number of legislators walked out during the
prayer in protest..

In 6 short weeks, Central Christian Church, where Rev. Wright is pastor, logged more than 5,000 phone calls with only 47 of those calls responding negatively.

The church is now receiving international requests for copies of this prayer from India, Africa and Korea.

Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, "The Rest
of the Story," and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.

With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called "one nation under God."

If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends. "If you don't stand for something, you will fall for everything."

Poor People

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the
express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, "How was the trip?"

"It was great, Dad."

"Did you see how poor people live?" the father asked.

"Oh yeah," said the son.

"So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?" asked the father.

The son answered:

"I saw that we have one dog and they had four.

We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.

We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night.

Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs.

We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them."

The boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added,  "Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are."

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!

George Carlin

AFTER THE DEATH OF HIS WIFE!

GEORGE CARLIN POST 9-11 (His wife had recently died...) Isn't it amazing that the George Carlin - gross and mouthy comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent.... and so very appropriate post 9-11.

A wonderful Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider freeways, but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less; we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom. We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space.

We've done larger things, but not better things. We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less.

We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes.

These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill.

It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete.

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever. Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember to give a warm hug to the one next to you because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent. Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you. Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again. Give time to love, give time to speak and give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

Garden of Eden

I must tell you all i have not been on my space to much, as i have been in much personel pain, and i am just taking time out to search the face of our Lord, and i know he will get me through, working on my faith also (trusting with every being of my life! I surely humble to come and ask for prayers for myself, I Thank him for what he has done for me and what he is still going to do!
Some one at my bible study gave this to me and i thought i would share,

                                                                          GARDEN OF EDEN
1,The Garden of Eden was in Iraq,
2, Mesopotamia, which is now Iraq, was the cradle of civilization*
3, Noah built the Ark in Iraq*
4, The Tower of Babel was in Iraq*
5, Abraham was from Ur, Which is in southern Iraq*
6, Isaac's wife Rebekah is from Nahor, which is Iraq*
7, Jacob met Rachel in Iraq*
8,Jonah preached in Nineveh_ which is Iraq*
9, Assyria, which is in Iraq, conquered the ten tribes of Israel*
10,Amos cried out in Iraq*
11,Babylon, which is in Iraq, destroyed Jerusalem*
12, Daniel was in the lion's den in Iraq*
13, The three Hebrew children were in the fire in Iraq,(Jesus had been in Iraq also as the fourth person in the fiery furnace*)
14, Belshazzar, King of Babylon, saw the "writing on the wall" in Iraq*
15, Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, carried the Jews captive into Iraq*
16, Ezekiel preached in Iraq*
17, The wise men were from Iraq*
18, Peter preached in Iraq*
19, The "Empire of Man" described in Revelation is called Babylon, which was a city in Iraq*
And you have probably seen this one, Israel is the nation most often mentioned in the Bible, But do you know which Nation is second?

       It is Iraq!

However that is not the name that is used in the Bible The names used in the bible are Babylon, Land of Shinar, and Mesopotamia.

The word Esopotamia means between two rivers, More exactly between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers.
The name Iraq, means country with deep roots.
Indeed Iraq is a country with deep roots and it is very significant.

No other nation, except Israel, has more history and prophecy associated than Iraq*

And also, this is something to think about! Since America is typically represented by and eagle.
Saddam should have read up on his Muslim passages.......

The following verse is from the Koran, (the Islamic Bible)

Koran (9:11)- For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsme Eagle. The Wrath of the Eagle would be felt
Throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the
Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was Peace*
            (note the verse number!)   Hmmmmm?

Just something to think about, in this time of History!

Carls Garden

Carl's Garden"

Carl was a quiet man. He didn't talk much. He would always greet you
with a big smile and a firm handshake. Even after living in our neighborhood
for over 50 years, no one could really say they knew him very well. Before
his retirement, he took the bus to work each morning. The lone sight of him
walking down the street often worried us. He had a slight limp from a
bullet wound received in W.W.II. Watching him, we worried that

Although he had survived W.W.II, he may not make it through our
changing uptown neighborhood with its ever-increasing random violence, gangs,
and drug activity.

When he saw the flyer at our local church asking for volunteers for
caring for the gardens behind the minister's residence, he responded in his
characteristically unassuming manner. Without fanfare, he just signed
up.

He was well into his 87th year when the very thing we had always feared
finally happened. He was just finishing his watering for the day when
three gang members approached him. Ignoring their attempt to intimidate him,
he simply asked, "Would you like a drink from the hose?" The tallest and
toughest-looking of the three said, "Yeah, sure," with a malevolent
little smile. As Carl offered the hose to him, the other two grabbed Carl's
arm, throwing him down. As the hose snaked crazily over the ground,

Dousing everything in its way, Carl's assailants stole his retirement
watch and his wallet, and then fled. Carl tried to get himself up, but he had
been thrown down on his bad leg. He lay there trying to gather himself
as the minister came running to help him. Although the minister had
witnessed the attack from his window, he couldn't get there fast enough to stop
it.

"Carl, are you okay? Are you hurt?" the minister kept asking as he
helped Carl to his feet. Carl just passed a hand over his brow and sighed,
shaking his head.

"Just some punk kids. I hope they'll wise-up someday." His wet clothes
clung to his slight frame as he bent to pick up the hose. He adjusted
the nozzle again and started to water. Confused and a little concerned, the
minister asked, "Carl, what are you doing?"

"I've got to finish my watering. It's been very dry lately," came the
calm reply. Satisfying himself that Carl really was all right, the minister
could only marvel. Carl was a man from a different time and place.

A few weeks later the three returned. Just as before their threat was
unchallenged. Carl again offered them a drink from his hose. This time
they didn't rob him. They wrenched the hose from his hand and drenched him
head to foot in the icy water. When they had finished their humiliation of
him, they sauntered off down the street, throwing catcalls and curses,
falling over one another laughing at the hilarity of what they had just done.
Carl just watched them. Then he turned toward the warmth giving sun, picked
up his hose, and went on with his watering.

The summer was quickly fading into fall. Carl was doing some tilling
when he was startled by the sudden approach of someone behind him. He
stumbled and fell into some evergreen branches. As he struggled to regain his
footing, he turned to see the tall leader of his summer tormentors
reaching down for him. He braced himself for the expected attack.

"Don't worry old man, I'm not gonna hurt you this time." The young man

spoke softly, still offering the tattooed and scarred hand to Carl. As
he

helped Carl get up, the man pulled a crumpled bag from his pocket and

handed it to Carl.

"What's this?" Carl asked. "It's your stuff," the man explained. "It's
your

stuff back. Even the money in your wallet."

"I don't understand," Carl said. "Why would you help me now?"

The man shifted his feet, seeming embarrassed and ill at ease. "I
learned

something from you," he said. "I ran with that gang and hurt people
like

you. We picked you because you were old and we knew we could do it.
But

every time we came and did something to you, instead of yelling and

fighting back, you tried to give us a drink. You didn't hate us for
hating

you. You kept showing love against our hate." He stopped for a moment.
"I

couldn't sleep after we stole your stuff, so here it is back." He
paused

for another awkward moment, not knowing what more there was to say.
"That

bag's my way of saying thanks for straightening me out, I guess." And
with

that, he

walked off down the street.

Carl looked down at the sack in his hands and gingerly opened it. He
took

out his retirement watch and put it back on his wrist. Opening his
wallet,

he checked for his wedding photo. He gazed for a moment at the young
bride

that still smiled back at him from all those years ago.

He died one cold day after Christmas that winter. Many people attended
his

funeral in spite of the weather. In particular the minister noticed a
tall

young man that he didn't know sitting quietly in a distant corner of
the

church. The minister spoke of Carl's garden as a lesson in life. In a
voice

made thick with unshed tears, he said, "Do your best and make your
garden

as beautiful as you can. We will never forget Carl and his garden."

The following spring another flyer went up. It read: "Person needed to
care

for Carl's garden." The flyer went unnoticed by the busy parishioners
until

one day when a knock was heard at the minister's office door.

Opening the door, the minister saw a pair of scarred and tattooed hands

holding the flyer. "I believe this is my job, if you'll have me," the
young

man said.

The minister recognized him as the same young man who had returned the

stolen watch and wallet to Carl. He knew that Carl's kindness had
turned

this man's life around. As the minister handed him the keys to the
garden

shed, he said, "Yes, go take care of Carl's garden and honor him."

The man went to work and, over the next several years, he tended the

flowers and vegetables just as Carl had done. In that time, he went to

college, got married, and became a prominent member of the community.
But

he never forgot his promise to Carl's memory and kept the garden as

beautiful as he thought Carl would have kept it.

One day he approached the new minister and told him that he couldn't
care

for the garden any longer. He explained with a shy and happy smile, "My

wife just had a baby boy last night, and she's bringing him home on

Saturday."

"Well, congratulations!" said the minister, as he was handed the garden

shed keys. "That's wonderful! What's the baby's name?"

"Carl," he replied.

Talking about Be careful....people are watching

Quote

Be careful....people are watching

My sister just sent me this and I was so touched by it I thought I would share it!  If you follow Christ and want to be like Him, remember people are watching you and taking notes................Jesus, get to know Him, He's coming back soon!

Several years ago, a  new  pastor moved to Houston, Texas. Some weeks after he arrived, he had an occasion to ride the bus from his home to the downtown area. When he sat down, he discovered that the driver had accidentally given him a quarter too much change. As he considered what to do, he thought to himself, "You'd better give the quarter back. It would be wrong to keep it." Then he thought, "Oh, forget it, it's only a quarter. Who would worry about this little amount. Anyway, the bus company gets too much fare; they will never miss it. Accept it as a 'gift from God' and keep quiet."  When his stop came, he paused momentarily at the door, then suddenly he handed the quarter to the driver and said, "Here, you gave me too much change." The driver with a smile replied, "Aren't you the new preacher in town? I have been thinking lately about going to worship somewhere. I just wanted to see what you would do if I gave you too much change. I'll see you at church on Sunday."  When the preacher stepped off of the bus, he literally grabbed the nearest light pole, held on, and said, "Oh Dear God, I almost sold your precious Son for a quarter."

Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read  This is a really almost a scary example of how much people watch us as Christians and will put us to the test! Always be on guard and remember (as I try to remember) that you carry the name of Christ on your shoulders when you call yourself "Christian." I'm glad I got this as a reminder.

When the "West wind" blows hard upon you with its punishing intent,
God Is Love* Whom the Lord Loves He Chastens"  Hebrew,12:6,

When the "East wind" Threatens to sweep away all that you have,
God is Love, "God shall supply all your need according to His riches in Glory" Philipians 4:19,

Perhaps you are discouraged and downhearted, If so
remember, God still cares for you. What you are experiencing has
either been sent or it has been allowed by Him for your good.
Yes , No matter which way the wind is blowing , God is Love*

Good Morning

GOOD MORNING

While you have your first cup of coffee, set back and listen to some music and read about HELLO.

Have you ever thought what this word stands for? Read on....

Do you know that a simple "hello" can be a sweet one?

The word H E L L O means:

H=How are you?

E= Everything all right?

L= Like to hear from you

L= Love to see you soon!

O=Obviously, You are my friend..so, HELLO!

It has made me smile every time I say hello since then so send

this message to the people you care about.

Just thinking of you!

I only sent this to people that I knew would NOT break the chain

or that believe in the power of prayer.

May today there be peace within you. May you trust your God that

you are exactly where you are meant to be.

"I believe that friends are quiet angels who lift us to our feet when

our wings have trouble remembering how to fly."

hope you are drinking from your saucer too.....

I've never made a fortune, and it's probably too late now.
But I don't worry about that much, I'm happy anyhow
And as I go along life's way,
I'm reaping better than I sowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

Haven't got a lot of riches,
and sometimes the going's tough
But I've got loving ones all around me,
and that makes me rich enough.

I thank God for his blessings,
and the mercies He's bestowed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

I remember times when things went wrong,
My faith wore somewhat thin.
But all at once the dark clouds broke,
and the sun peeped through again.

So Lord, help me not to gripe,
about the tough rows I have hoed.
I'm drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

If God gives me strength and courage,
When the way grows steep and rough.
I'll not ask for other blessings,
I'm already blessed enough.

And may I never be too busy,
to help others bear their loads.
Then I'll keep drinking from my saucer,
'Cause my cup has overflowed.

When I think of how many people in this world have it worse
than I do, I realize just how
blessed we really are.

Don't be too busy today...

THE NAME!

FTo build our Relationship with Jesus,
This Journey is a tool that helps align your heart with the will of  Jesus, but we need more than just heart-knowledge of the Lord: we also need Head-knowledge, To get us to continue our Journey in the word*
1,We are to read the word,  There is no substitute  for daily ammersion in scripture. The more we read it , the more we'll grow in knowledge and wisdom----- our brain will readily recall where to find passages and we'll perceive the Word in context. The more we read the more we'll appreciate Gods Revelation of himself, recognize  The Holy Spirit acting in our everyday life in loving  Obedience to Christ***
2, Study the Word, Reading with deliberation, direction, and depth,
We pray and meditate as we explore a topic, consult concordances ,
commentaries, Mature Believers, and other resources in our exploration.

The word became flesh*
John 1:1
1, In the beginning was the word already existed , He was with God , and he was God*
2,He was in the beginning with God
3, He created everything there is , nothing exists  that he didn't make,
4, Life itself was in him , and this life gives light to everyone*
5 The light shines through the Darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it!
Jesus is Lord*
Jesus  the mighty Warrior*
Jesus the Friend *
Jesus the  Teacher*
Jesus the Healer
Jesus the Prince of Peace
Jesus the wonderful counclor*
Jesus the Lover of our souls*
Jesus our Savior!*

3,Live the word, knowing what the bible says is worthless we apply it in our life!
Jesus wants us to know Him*  Count on Him to be with us throughout our Journey in the Word,

Philippians 4:8
Whatever things are True*
Whatever things are Noble*
Whatever things are Just*
Whatever things are Pure*
Whatever things are Lovely*
Whatever things are of Good Report*
If there is any virtue *
And if there is anything  Praiseworthy*****
Meditate on these Things****

2, Peter1:5-8
Giving all diigence,
add to your Faith Virtue*
To virtue Knowledge*
To Knowledge Self-control *
To Self-control perseverance*
To Perseverance Godliness*
To Godliness Brotherly Kindness*
To Brotherly Kindness LOVE*
For if these things are yours and abound,
You will be neither Barren*
Nor Unfruitful *
IN the knowledge *
OF OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST*
AMEN!

Talking about The Warrior's Prayer

Quote

The Warrior's Prayer

The Warrior's Prayer

Heavenly Father,

Your Warrior prepares for battle.

Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on

the whole armor of God!

I put on the Girdle of Truth!

May I stand firm in the truth of Your Word

so I will not be victim of Satan's lies.

I put on Breastplate of Righteousness!

May it guard my heart from evil

so I will remain pure and holy,

protected under the blood of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Shoes of Peace!

May I stand firm in the Good News of the Gospel

so Your peace will shine through me

and be light to all I encounter.

I take the Shield of Faith!

May I be ready for Satan's fiery darts of

doubt, denial and deceit

so I will not be vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation!

May I keep my mind focused on You

so Satan will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.

I take the Sword of the Spirit!

May the two-edged sword of Your Word

be ready in my hands

so I can expose the tempting words of Satan.

By Faith your warrior has put on

the whole armor of God!

I am prepared to live this day in spiritual victory!

(In name of Jesus Christ)  Amen.
